I installed compiler (with apt-get install build-essential)
then I unpacked the "bluegriffon-1.7.2.Ubuntu13.04.x86_64.tar.bz2" that I downloaded from their website
then I changed to bluegriffon folder with the unpacked files and I tried to compile the package but the "./configure command" did not work (error : -su: ./configu No such file or directory)
What should I do now?

Problems Setting Up VsFTPd With Virtual Users. Need Assistance.

Running mint 17.1 (64 bit) Cinnamon

I've spent a bunch of time trying to troubleshoot my setup of my ftp. Currently trying to get it to work using the virtual users option. I am following this guide http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=518293. I've hit a snag that I can't seem to get around. The libdb3-util is where I'm having trouble. When I input the code "sudo apt-get install libdb3-util" my results are as follows:

Code:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package libdb3-util

I have searched around a little, found someone else that had a similar problem, and was able to use db4.7-util to correct their problem. However, when I attempted this, it was unsuccessful. Is there a newer libdb/db I should be installing? If so, when I install it will it alter any of the code I've used from the guide?

I've been following the guide verbatum from the start of "Virtual users with TLS/SSL/FTPS and a common upload directory - Complicated vsftpd" and have stalled at the point of installing the libdb3-util.

I found a similar thread in this forum as well to solve the above problem by using "apt-get install honeyd" but didnt quite worked for me.

root@kali:~/Desktop/Narayan/honeyd-1.5c# apt-get install honeyd
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package honeyd

I tried researching but couldnt find any solutions. Moreover, I am really a newbie at Kali Linux and other debians as well.
I would appreciate if somone could help me.
Thank you.

Package Operation Failed

Ubuntu 14.10 runs great on my laptop but I think I have dependency problems because EVERY time I install or remove software I get the following error message. However everything seems to run just fine...

"Package operation failed"
"The installation or removal of a software package failed."

...and details shows a massive list of gobbledygook with a lot of:

"insserv: Starting vpnagentd_init depends on rc.local and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true!"

I can post the whole message but I'll wait for feedback first.

How To Open Linux File/software In Windows 8?

Hi,

Could anyone please explain as understandable as possible how could I on my Windows 8 open either single file or install (and use) entire software which is supposted to work on Linux and/or Ubuntu? I have absolutelly NO experience with Linux and have never used it. Honestly, I don't know if there is any difference between Linux and Ubuntu. I want to be inside my Windows 8 while using Linux files/sofware. The only solution I could think of are actually two but neither of them is useful for me:

1. Vmware (i don't know how to use it)
2. Rent remote computer (vps/rdp) with linux OS installed (this would let me be in Windows 8 while being able to use Linux file/software [on remote computer] but sooner or later I would want to have Windows installed there too)

Tried program Linux Reader but didn't work on my Windows 8. Although I would need solution for installation/usage of software (that can be used only on linux/ubuntu), regardless of details***, the current problem is basically related to single files only: I have two files, both in IMG extension. Don't know how to open them because Deamon Tools doesn't handle IMG. The problem is that filesystem in one of them is "Linux" and filesystem in another is "142". The error I am getting when I try to open them is:

"File with harddrive/disc snapshot is corrupted."

But this is most likely because they are supposted to be used in linux environment, hence such question.

*** when i said "details" I was referring to basically anything: type of software, size, purpose, whether or not it needs network connection, whether or not it contains logging in (username password, etc) requirement, etc.

The following solution for current situation (quoted error above) works only partially:

http://www.sysprobs.com/simple-tip-h...thout-software

I am able to open/run/mount IMG if I do what is described on this link (im basically opening iso in this case - see the website) but when opening the virtual drive, the following error message proves that the file can be used in linux/ubuntu only:

"Windows cannot access that drive. Drive could be corrupted. Make sure the drive is in condition that can be recognized by Windows. If drive isn't formatted then format it before usage."

Would need detailed instructions, for total beginner, who has never used linux/ubuntu, what to do in such case: how to use in win8 files/software that are supposted to be used in linux/ubuntu. Also answer on how to open IMG would be highly appreciated.

Kindest regards and thank you a million in advance.
