Aprire Finestre Nel Secondo Monitor

Buongiorno a tutti

come devo fare?
grazie

Oscar

I have Kali linux and updated it a few days ago and now when I search for networks after going into monitor mode it tells me "no wireless networks found". before the update, monitor mode used to be "mon0" After the update, after entering monitor mode it says "wlan0mon" not sure if this helps. I use Wicd network manager but the origional network manager also cant see any wireless networks, it says "device not managed".

Monitor To Sleep After 10 Minutes

Hi,

Not just new but seriously ignorant--trying to solve a number of problems.

I have an old Mac Mini which now says Xubuntu.

If I am streaming a movie the monitor goes off every ten minutes.

I have tried to find an answer to this problem and discovered that the output of xset -q includes under Screen Saver that timeout=600 which is (might be? the) 10 minutes. I have tried a few things to change that number i.e. xset s off but nothing I have done changes it nor does anything within Power Manager or Light Locker.

Any suggestions?

Also, how do you all put the contents of a terminal emulator screen into one of these messages?

Thanks.

Monitor Scaling In Xorg.conf Or Video Drivers

Hi this is my first post. I'm a Linux user but far from an expert. I'm building a CNC machine and it will be powered by linuxcnc, I may try to compile it for my more modern hardware.

My question is because I have some old cases with touch screen monitors that were likely from some sort of kiosk. The built in monitors have odd Samsung lcd panels with a native resolution of 1024x768 but they are wide screen. They look like 16:9 but could be 16x10. Certainly not 4:3. Thus the pixels are rectangular. The monitors accept higher resolutions so I can output in a wide screen aspect ratio however the image is not sharp because of the down conversion and maybe to some extent the resolutions might be high for the VGA connection.

I'd like the picture to not be squished but with the quality I see when I use the native resolution. So I need to send the monitor an image that's been stretched a little so the monitor can squish it back to the right proportions. I will be using an amd a6 apu fm2 socket since the motherboards for these still often have a parallel header making a mesa FPGA card unnecessary for driving the gecko stepper drivers for this build keeping the costs at a minimum and the setup simple. Do the ati drivers allow scaling independent of output resolution? Is there some way to configure xorg.conf to do this?

Ntop

Newbie here !!WARNING!! >

I recenltly installed Fedora 3 for the sole purpose of running Ntop to monitor network usage. I downloaded the Ntop 3.1 RPM package, when I run it error comes out stating im missing packages; libdg.so.18 & libpcap.so.0.6.2. When I download those rpm I get Packages already installed???

I am not familiar with Linux at all and trying to convert.

Hunting Down Who A Monitor (or Sometimes Two) Goes Blank

I am running Slackware 14 with three screens, using KDE.

The issue I have is that all three display ports seem properly configured, and have worked for a couple of years, and all of the sudden the last several days, mid-day, something happens and one or more screens go blank.

Looking at messages and syslog, I don't see anything unusual. Can someone point me in the right direction towards figuring this out?

Black Screen On Startup

Before i start id like to say im a total newb to linux.. Used windows for years but I'm not tech minded, my old pc run slow so i bought an ipad! Then was given a linux pc but a good friend about 4-5 years after buying an ipad.

Brief history
A friend of mine the other day gave me a pc he had lying around unused but dusty and had linux installed. i got it home and it worked perfect but no sound, messages him and i was told by a him to locate the "analog output" click that in settings and make sound run through it, all i could find was dummy output ( i think its called ), i researched it and found its because it was bugged so to sort it out i needed to uninstall and reinstall so i followed some guys code and did that.. It said the install was successful in the control panel type thing. but on restart i get a blank screen.. Like my monitor isn't working! " i used this method http://itsfoss.com/fix-sound-ubuntu-1304-quick-tip/ no sure if links are allowed but i used this guys method to try and get my sound back and ended up with a blank screen after restart.

I get to the grub menu ( think its called )

I have found many post relating to blank screen but non are like the picture i posted or talk really in death tech talk which i don't understand.. I think in the grub menu i need to change something but I'm confused

I believe its when you reinstall stuff that it makes the monitor not work?? Could this be the case?? If so can you help??

Ps sorry if i posted in wrong section i am a total newb so please forgive me

And no in death tech talk, try keep it simple

Thanks commando.

Ps if you want me to explain things further please say. I'm not computer literate sorry but i will do my best.
