Hi
Need help on snort error message : cannot decode data link type 201
Thanks
Hello everyone. I am attempting to get Snort to recognize a Portscan and have an alert pop up on the screen. I have successfully installed and run snort in multiple types of configurations. I have enabled the sfportscan preprocessor in my snort.conf Snort is running on Ubuntu and I am running nmap on a Kali box. Can anyone offer any insight on how to configure snort to have an alert pop up when it detects any type of portscan?
Thanks,
-Trevor
I was copying the contents of a flash drive to a folder. In the middle of it I got an error message:
'Error splicing file: input/output error'
and then it said 'do you want to skip or retry?' And the "all" button was there too. Anyway, I skipped. When I checked the folder, all my data seemed to be there.
Do you think it was?
I mean, what are the implications of the error message and of my "skipping" it?
Next up, when I looked at the contents of my flash drive all the folders and files have a lock icon on them. I can open the files but I can't edit them. And no, the lock switch on my flash drive is not pressed.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
Dear all;
I run an execute file named "A" gets it's input from a text file "B.inp"
but I face this error:
A < B.inp
: error while loading shared libraries: libquadmath.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I've downloaded libquadmath and when I want to install it ,the other error said I don't have libgc package!!! but I have libgc!! is it because of existing two different repository that it can't share their information?
my operating system is Centos6;
what shall I do?
Thanks for your attention
Hello,
I have installed LEACH in NS-2.34 (ubunto-14.04)
I could run it successfully..
But it always stopped in a few seconds without sending data
i.e. Total Data=0
And it consumed a large energy!!!!
It didn't show any error in leach.error
Is it a logical error or others?
thanks
When I try to open my filesystem I get the following error message:
Unable to mount 496GB filesystem error mounting:mount:wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb2, missing codepage or helper program, or other error. In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so. What does all this mean? Everything had worked so far until now. I'm using Debian V 7.8.0
Thanks for any help I can get
Gary
Greetings All,
I'm NEW to Linux 13.10. I'm getting a error message on start up.
In the past, I would just press S to skip mounting. That is NOT
working any more.
Error Message : An error occurred while mounting/mnt/3F3C-1AF6.
Press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery
Is there a command, that I can use to continue to boot or at
least find out what is wrong with my Ubuntu 13.10?
When I press S or M .... nothing happens.
Thanks in advance!
PEACE to ALL .... MJ
Please forgive me but I'm a little new to Red Hat (RHEL 5). I'm using rysnc to backup critical data and to a second disk; here is what I'm typing at the command line rsync -rvgal /data/disk1/share /data/backup/share. It appears that the softlinks are not transfered to the backup drive and some of the links point to data not located in the source folder (/data/share). After reading the rsync man page I was a little confused about the L option (vs the l option). In order to ensure that the linked files are moved should I type the below:
rsync -rvgaL /data/disk1/share /data/backup/share
A million thanks,
Johnny Mac

now i need to know
i) how to add encryption and decryption in any of routing-(DSDV,DSR,AODV,OLSR)?
ii) As of now in routing i am able to see only data flows, but is it possible to send some data(message) from source node and i want to retrieve(read) those messages from receiver nodes?
