i want to install TraNS in my system
but i dont know the procedure please help me
note: already i have ns2.34 and my os is fedora13
Hi all,
I have a strange request. I have a system running Fedora 21. This system is now not connected to the internet (for security reasons).
I have used the " yum downgrade bash " command to revert back to version 4.3.30, but I am still receiving compilation errors in some code (which I have rescued from a Fedora Core 4 installation [don't ask!!]).
Is it possible to download the source for Bash version 3, compile and install it to test it on my Fedora 21 installation?
If so, could someone help me please, as this is something I have never tried before?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi all,
I am going to install PMIPv6 patch in NS-2.33. I have Fedora - 16 in my Laptop. Before installation of Patch it is asked to "install on the system binutils, gcc, g++, make, autoconf, libX11-dev, tk8.4-dev, libxmu-dev (or libxmu-headers)". Can I get help on how to install all the above in fedora 16. Please help.
Hi guys,
For my dual boot system, I first installed window XP followed by Linux fedora 19 and the system has been booting and working fine without
problem.
Now, I would like to remove window XP and install Window 7,
so, I need to remove the partition window XP is on, and then
do a fresh window 7 install. Is there is simple and easy way
of doing this ?
I have window XP, a window 7 and a linux fedora installation disk.
Thanks.

i m having problem in running a simulator on redhat linux 8.0. its been downloaded from uscream.cs.tu-berlin.de/minsimulate/install.html .
the name of simulator is MINsimulate. it has a tool along with it named akaroa. that is also available from the site. i have tried to configure the above on my linux version but it gives error with saying" akaroa libraries not found".( i cannot send the attachment here). if anybody can help me.
i will mail the simulator to his or her email id.
well if anybody has any simulator on multistage interconnection networks then it might help me.

I have setup a dual boot system with Fedora 21 and Arch Linux. The problem is that Fedora doesn't see my encrypted Arch installation. The installations are on separate partitions and do not share anything apart from hard disk space. I have run the following commands as root in Fedora:
Code:
grub2-install /dev/sda
Code:
os-prober
Code:
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
When I rebooted, Fedora was the only OS entry showing in the GRUB menu.
There was a suggestion from one of the members of the Arch forums that I should write the entry myself into /etc/grub.d/40_custom and then re-build the grub configuration or take the Arch entry from Arch's /boot/grub/grub.cfg and just paste it into the 40_custom in Fedora and rebuild.
How do I boot from a live Arch USB stick into the installed Arch and do as stated above? How would it work? Thanks in advance for your replies.

hey guys, I need help with yum install system-config-kickstart.
Ive try running this in terminal with root and user. nothing seems to work.
I got a message:
Loaded plugins: presto, refresh-packagekit
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora.
Please verify its path and try again.
Guys I'm new to Linux. What should I do?
I've made a couple attempts at installing these OS's on my machine and am still not getting it. I've actually been using AVLinux for about the past nine months, and it's working fairly well. And, yes, I know XP is down for the count, but for the moment it's the only MS option available to me - and I *need* to get it running for some work related web stuff...
This is all on a 32 bit AMD system btw.
What I've tried: Everything on one SATA drive. Partition one formatted to NTFS (about 20GB) for XP. Partitions 2 and 3 are Root and Home for AVLinux, Partition 4 at the end of the drive as the /swap for AVL.
All the how-to's and guides I've been able to come across point to (usually) Mint or Ubuntu's install dialog, and to select "something else" - which, by the way, is not a function of AVLinux's installation procedure. During install you can install GRUB to the MBR *or* root partition..
So, just to clarify to procedure (as I might have it now, but am very unsure) XP gets installed first (which is done at this point...) then my Linux distro *to the MBR* (?) then I need to add a stanza to GRUB telling it where XP lives? XP is not showing up on GRUB as I'm doing it, but I'm not too sure if installing Linux to the MBR (on the same physical drive as XP) actually wipes out the Windows bootloader....and if so, how chainloading would actually work...
So, any help appreciated, thanks.
I'm considering switching from Linux Mint 13 to a RedHat based distro. I was thinking Fedora, but am open to any suggestions.
I've been using LM for quite a while now and just want a change. I'm not overly happy with things.
I'm curious if there is a way that I can image my current installation, so if I install Fedora (or something else) and something goes drastically wrong that I can be back up and running withing a very short period of time as if nothing happened.
hello all
I already have fedora 14 32bit and I install it on vmwear in order to install ns2.35allinone but when I follow the steps I got the following error in the first step
[fedora@localhost ~]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost fedora]# yum install autoconf
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
Adding en_US to language list
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again
[root@localhost fedora]#
and I read many post to solve this problem and as I understand from it fedora 14 is now unsupported. so please if you can help me to fix this problem or post any url to download the last version of fedora in order to install ns2.35allinone to run zrp protocol.
thanks a lot
