Problem With Honeyd Installation During "make" In Kali Linux

Hello there,
First of all thank you for making me a part of this forum.
Secondly, here is the problem..
I am facing this problem in honeyd installation during "make"

I found a similar thread in this forum as well to solve the above problem by using "apt-get install honeyd" but didnt quite worked for me.

root@kali:~/Desktop/Narayan/honeyd-1.5c# apt-get install honeyd
Reading package lists... Done

Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package honeyd

I tried researching but couldnt find any solutions. Moreover, I am really a newbie at Kali Linux and other debians as well.
I would appreciate if somone could help me.
Thank you.

hey there
And again, I got stuck in this problem.
I could not find honeyd logs in var/logs/honeypot/
there isnt any file.

I ran the honeyd with "honeyd -d -f honeyd.conf"
it works in terminal. but there arent any logs at all.

after some research, i came to know that i should include "-l" to create logs.
but it showed me only this.

root@kali:/etc/honeypot# honeyd -l -d -f honeyd.conf

Changing XML Property Value

Hi, I am using a XML file in server location which contains some attributes and value.I just want to replace the attribute value inside the tag keeping the complete line and xml file intact. I am looking for Regular expression which can search for attribute name and replace the attribute value with the provided one. Please find below property details.

<server>

Problem With (instalation Of?) Mysql.h On C

Hi, I've just recently installed MySQL connector/c from source code on my Slackware 14.1 x64

I read the official instructions of the connector but I felt a bit disorientated when I read:
Code:
1 -Change location to the top-level directory of the source distribution.

I interpreted that I have to go to the "highest" directory Code:
/

So I wrote: Code:

        #                            cd /

root@- /#                            tar xzvf /home/normal/Downloads/mysql-connector-c-6.1.6-src.tar.gz

root@- /#                            cd /mysql-connector-c-6.1.6-src/

root@- /mysql-connector-c-6.1.6-src# cmake -G "Unix Makefiles"

root@- /mysql-connector-c-6.1.6-src# make

root@- /mysql-connector-c-6.1.6-src# make install

Then I did:
Code:
ln -s /usr/local/mysql-5.6.25/include /usr/include

But when I try to compile a program in c with #include <mysql.h> i get this error:
Code:
# gcc ctemp.c
In file included from ctemp.c:2:0:
/usr/include/mysql.h:57:27: fatal error: mysql_version.h: No such file or directory
 #include "mysql_version.h"
                           ^

What can I do? Thanks a lot and sorry for poor english

PD: If you need the official instructions I paste here the link: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector-...on-source.html

Executable Not Found From /usr/local/bin

Hi,

I installed ghostscript via yum package manager. Later I wanted a newer version of ghostscript and compiled it from source. "make install" placed the gs executable file under /usr/local/bin/gs. This works if I run the command with absolute path, but if try to run gs, the shell will output

"-bash: /usr/bin/gs: No such file or directory"

if I echo the path variable it will display

/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin

If i run whereis it will give me the correct path
gs: /usr/local/bin/gs

How do I make it work so that typing "gs" will run the executable file from the /usr/local/bin/gs?

(I am using Centos 6)

Thanks.

Connecting To Specific Directory With Filezilla

Hello, I have an embedded linux device. I can connect to the device and I can upload or download files. No problem with this. But, at first connection, I want to connect to "/" directory instead of "/root". In the device file system, there are files ssh_config and sshd_config under /etc/ssh directory. I think I have to do something with these files but I don't know what.

I don't exactly know what mean "/root" and "/" directories. I think that the real root directory is "/" directory which is empty but when I connect with filezilla, the "/root" directory is the default so I had to go back to / directory everytime.

Kernel Compilation Error : In "make Modules_install"

Hello all,
i'm trying to upgrade my 2.4.x to 2.6.x ( on slackware 10.0)
i've experience of compiling 2.4.x to 2.4.x.

so the final steps were..........

make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install ( now here its showing error )

last lines of "make modules"
.........

...............

i used the "config" from the second cd of slackware 10.0.
inside somewhere in "testing" folder.

A person asked me this

Code:
Did you upgrade your module-init-tools?
It's necessary if you go from 2.4 to 2.6

the version for it is :
Code:
root@bond:/home/bond# depmod -V
module-init-tools 3.0
root@bond:/home/bond#

so i don't think i need to upgrade it.....

now experimently i tried to upgrade witheut loading any "config"
everything worked fine in that case...

so what could be the problem.........any problem with that "config"???

if required......i can post that "config" too.

I Try To Install Ns2.33 On Ubuntu 10.10 In Order To Run ZRP Protocol

Hello every one
please I need your help to fix my problem to install ns2.33allinone on the ubuntu 10.10 in order to run ZRP protocol for security purpose.
before this time I install every thing correctly as follow
The steps I follow to run the ZRP on the Ubuntu 10.10 and Ns2-allinone-2.33
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. first install the Ubuntu 10.10 on VMwear and download the ns2.33 and exract it in the home directory

2.Ubuntu 10.10 - 32´ is old. you have to replace the text in /etc/apt/sources.list , to be able to install packages.
So you write
$ gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
After the file open remove all the text and past the following text instead it.
#
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick main restricted
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick multiverse universe
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates main restricted
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates multiverse universe
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-backports main restricted
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-backports multiverse universe
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security main restricted
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-security multiverse universe
#

Then save the file and close.

3.Write the following command to update the system
$ sudo apt-get update

4.download the two files from the following link and save it in the home directory

gcc41-compat , `gcc41-compat-4.1.2_i386.deb' :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7S...it?usp=sharing
g++41-compat , `g++41-compat-4.1.2_i386.deb' :
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7S...it?usp=sharing

5.write the following command to install
$ sudo dpkg -i g++41-compat-4.1.2_i386.deb gcc41-compat-4.1.2_i386.deb

6.write the following command to update the packages
$sudo apt-get install libx11-dev libxmu-dev libxmu-headers libxt-dev libtool make automake autoconf g++

7. Download the ZRP from the following link and put it in the ns-allinone-2.33 directory
The latest "patch package" is zrp-ns233-patching.tar.gz
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7S...it?usp=sharing

8. After that you should follow the next steps
$ cd ns-allinone-2.33/
$ tar xvf zrp-ns233-patching.tar.gz
$ export CC=gcc41 CXX=g++41
$ ./install
$ cd ns-2.33/
$ sudo make install

9. Then you can download the example of the ZRP from the following link and run
ZRP examples : zrp-examples-2012.tar.bz2
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7S...it?usp=sharing

but now when i try to install it again i got this error
after i run "./install" command
#
