Hi Linux Guru's
I made a logging on my restart script for jboss but I keep on getting these characters
Quote:
ESC[60G[ESC[0;32mESC[0;39m]
like the logging shows below:
Quote:
Apr 30 11:32:20 pogiako JBOSS IS RUNNING (JBOSS7_PID: 1234)
Stopping poging-jboss-as: ..............ESC[60G[ESC[0;32m OK ESC[0;39m]
The above result should only shows "[OK]" I remember I made some colorization on the logging but later on I reverted it back. I already looked at my script and found no more traces of colorization tags.please help
Over the past few months, I have been noticing a lot of people asking this same very question. As I was doing some research work the other day, I came across a Linux logging guide and wanted to make sure I shared it here, for others to use as a tool to learn more about Linux logging.
I have read through it and I think it's well written and pretty comprehensive, but I would like to hear others opinion too. Let me know.

What are the recommended best security practices for using Firefox on a new Linux system (Centos 7 in my case)? I only access the web using Firefox using my regular, non-root, account. Other than that, what Firefox and/or system settings should I enable/disable in order to safeguard my system from malware scripts, viruses, etc? Also, are there similar Thunderbird settings that should be enabled/disabled?
Thanks in advance from a new Linux user
Since this morning i have a problem with logging in on my user account in Linux Mint 17.1 Mate. After entering the password I get a black screen. Logging in as guest (without password) works fine.
How can I get back to my user account.

Hi all ,
i tried to update firefox 24 to firefox 35. Found a tutorial how to install it and did
#chown -R root:root /tmp/firefox && mv /tmp/firefox /opt/firefox-latest
#ln -s /opt/firefox-latest/firefox /usr/local/bin/firefox-latest
and now run it with firefox-latest.
I had actually the both versions of firefox and with pkgtool tried to remove firefox 35 but it cant, so i uninstalled firefox 24. Now i have troubles with flashplayer. how can remove firefox 35 ?
I downloaded the firefox and extracted it using tar xjvf
And then when I try to open from a terminal
I get above error
Error : no display specified
It also default firefox 4.0b12. It opens when I click on the firefox icon and but not via terminal.
I want to open extracted latest firefox via terminal.
Any solutions available for the same.
When i doble click on some html file it gives me that error
KDEInit could not launch '/usr/lib64/firefox-24.2.0/firefox.
I can open it with right click and use "open with" option, but than i have 4 positions of firefox in context menu. How can solve this ? I currently use firefox 34.1 , installed it slackpkg.
hello guys, just want to ask I have files on the server running SUSE 11 and i rsync to My WD Cloud via NFS.
but i notice some it shows some error like "This operation is not permitted"
I had used rsync -av parameters.
But when I used rsync -rltuv parameters it seems to work fine.
Why rsync -av parameter is used there are errors even though I set on WD My Cloud shared folder as the permissions as 777?
Thanks for any input.
Hello
I am trying to log the Kernel level PPPd raw PPP messages (version 2.4.2) using Linux kernel 2.6.x to the /etc/syslog or /var/log/messages but the logging is not enabled for some reason.
I pass the kdebug 7 or kdebug 31 to the PPPd using /etc/ppp/options but the Kernel level debug logs are not shown in /proc/kmsg or using klogd or syslogd.
Can anyone please help me to fix this. What might be the problem?
Please reply..
Thanks,
Rakesh
