Can't Get Brother DCP-7065DN Printer To Work With Linux Mint 17

I am working in the Ubuntu environment. I have sold a new printer. Type Brother DCP-J552DW. However in the ubuntu printer database is this printer not available.

How can this problem been solved. Please answer.

But when I try to print a pdf document or a test page via cups website (http://localhost:631/printers) nothing happens.

I just got an Epson WF-3620 all-in-one printer last week, to replace an older Epson WF 600 all-in-one. Both of these printers use the same universal Linux driver; it is identified on the Epson website as the ESC/P-R generic driver, version 1.4.4.

With my older Epson WF 600, I had no problems with print quality. With the new printer, copies look great, and test pages are perfect, but when I try to print a document from my hard drive, I get something that looks like a draft-quality printout. Blacks come out pale gray, and anything less than black drops out completely. I've tried changing the media type from plain papers-draft to plain papers-high in Properties/Printer Options, as recommended to another poster with the same problem on forums.openprinting.org, but this didn't work for me.

I tried calling Epson, just on the off chance that I'd get someone familiar with Linux, but wasn't lucky this time. Epson officially doesn't support Linux. I managed after some effort to get them to tell me the procedure for adjusting the print quality in Windows and Mac, just in case I could extrapolate it to Linux, but the menus are completely different.

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 580s desktop. I am running Linux Mint 13.

If no one knows a fix for this, one other thing that would be helpful is any recommendations for other all-in-one printer brands that support Linux. Thanks.

I am running puppy precise 5.7.1 and I am trying to run a printer driver but to run the driver I am told to run this command in the console: ( Desktop$ sh hplip-3.15.2.run ) but I get no such command exist message. Any help please.
Also I have looked but can't find out what the sh command does. So thanks in advance for any info/help.

I checked the Dell support site but can't find the Linux driver for their printer. I don't think they support Linux. My printer is a Dell 968 and I'm using Lubuntu 14.04

Hi, I'm running Linux Mint 17.1 and the Internet connections generally works well but sometime it is slow and pages take many seconds to load or the connection fails.
The driver is the wikidevi suggested for my card and signal is good, do you have any idea about this problem ?

When I installed mint today from cd, I had to use the save-mode because of the nvidia card. So I was aware I had to change driver after install.

Right after install I checked these '10 thing to first do after install'.

Improve battery life
Change screensaver timing
Install RAR

Then I checked the driver manager to deal with the graphic driver. I tried all 3 in the driver manager, but with each mint crashes with this message right after login.

So I don't know if its crashing because of the driver or because of those things I changed after the install.

I googled some and this issue is all over linux forums, but I can't find a solution anywhere.

I bought an old Thinkpad R51 (with Pentium M CPU) and have installed Linux Mint 14 which supports non-PAE CPUs.
The seller said the touchpad did'nt work any more after installing windows 7 (And the OS key was illegal).
I want it to work and found The UltraNav driver which is touchpad driver for the ThinkPad R51 at LenovoDriver.com.

I did not find a version for Linux, though. And I found this comment:
"Your ThinkPad R51′s touchpad might not operate for the reason that the touchpad is incompatible together with the operating technique installed around the laptop. That is ordinarily the case when applying an unsupported version of your Windows OS or an option OS which include Ubuntu".

I downloaded the version for Windows XP and tried to run it in the Terminal. But this is my very first day on Linux Mint (!!!) and I did not get it to work.

Is the touchpad lost forever, or does some solution exist?

I am running Linux Fedora 20. I have tried several times to download drivers; the last message I received said "There was an error during the cups operation: 'client-error-document-format-not-supported'. I'm totally confused now and do not know what to do next. I need help please. I think I should start from scratch.

Arch linux, lxdm/lxde, recent installation, feeling I must be doing something stupid, would be glad to be guided!

I have a Brother HL-2030 printer connected to a Raspberry Pi as a print server, CUPS setup, with sharing turned on. Other machines in the household, and indeed other OS's on the machine I'm writing on, print trouble-free to this printer.

On *this* desktop machine, (with libcups installed,) other programs print trouble-free. Firefox, Thunderbird, geany and evince all detect the presence of the network printer, and work as expected.

It's just Libreoffice that does not. This is true both of libreoffice-fresh and libreoffice-still, and it is true for all the components (write, draw, calc etc).

Libreoffice *does* find the network printer from other OS's that I play with; I have Puppy and Mint on the same machine, but those installs of Libreoffice are obviously different/earlier versions (nor do I feel like upgrading them in the circumstances!)

In this context, though, the Libreoffice "File>Printer settings..." menu offers me only a "Generic Printer" (whose properties and options I can edit). If I ask Libreoffice to print to this generic printer, it reports no failure, but that task just seems to disappear into thin air.
