Best Malware Server That Is Compatible With Linux OS's

I'm looking for best (commercial vs. freeware) malware analysis server/sandbox that is compatible with Linux OS's (Debian preferred). Currently, I am running a cuckoo malware server (freeware) and the injection process seems to crash with any application I'm trying to examine. Dont' worry I'm still a newbie at this.

An Error Occurred During The File System Check

Hi all!! Im new in this forum and also new at linux !!

I am installing an application that includes automatically the instalation of CentOS 6.3.

The server that hosts this application and OS had a power outage and then when i turn on the server again i get the error that you can see in this pictu http://postimg.org/image/7opm0xzel/

I have 2 disks in the system, 1 for the application and SO and other to store call recordings (thats what the application do, record calls!).

If I re-install the system it has no problem!! But i dont want to re-install the system every time i have a power outage because i lost too much and important information.

I have installed this application in other server and had no problem with power outage. In this server the diference is that it originally had raid and i "remove it" frome the BIOS. Maybe here is the problem??

Anyone can help me?? Remember im really new in linux !!

Introduction

HI,
When I first joined this forum I made a fairly long synopsis of who I am and what I wanted to do with Linux. I thought I posted it but now I can not find it anywhere. No doubt I messed up somehow!

I am developing a Java stand alone application that will require some server side Java Servlets to manage the marking, registration, install and deployment phases. I have a spare Windows 7 PC that I have converted to the Debian Linux system successfully...

I currently use LunarPages as my ISP and host to 3 domains. If I use them to host my Server Side processing they use Resin 3.x for the web server and my contract with them provides me with one 'MySQL' database system...

Next on my own server I will install the Resin version that LunarPages requires along with their required version of the Java EE.

I have 3 ways to eventually deploy my Java stand alone application
1. Use LunarPages to host my Server Side Servlet command...
2. Use the Google AppEngine service...
3. Use my own Linux Server for deployment purposes...

This message is an intro and does not have any specific question yet...
Perhaps someone may offer some suggestions for me or critique my objects...

Jim Crowell

Firefox Security Best Practices

What are the recommended best security practices for using Firefox on a new Linux system (Centos 7 in my case)? I only access the web using Firefox using my regular, non-root, account. Other than that, what Firefox and/or system settings should I enable/disable in order to safeguard my system from malware scripts, viruses, etc? Also, are there similar Thunderbird settings that should be enabled/disabled?

Thanks in advance from a new Linux user

Looking To Build A Linux Server, But Have Requirements, Not Sure What To Use Or Build

Hey Everyone,
I'm pretty new to linux, I'm a long time mac user, and have been using a Mac Mini as my Plex and wordpress server for some time. Looking at Apples latest generation of Mac Minis, it looks like they no longer are a great option for servers. So here's my setup and wants in a nut shell.

Currently my Mac Mini hosts 3 wordpress sites and is my Plex server. The machine is running OS 10.10.2 Yosemite with Server running, and has 2 Drobo Gen 2 devices attached via Firewire 800.

I use 1 Drobo for my Plex Media, and the other drobo is used for machine backup.

Reading online, Looks like the Drobo 1 and 2 Genereations only show up as 2TB max segments on Linux So I would scrap the Drobo cases and put all the drives internal into the linux server tower.

I want to build a new Linux server that can take over these tasks. So my wants would be, A linux server that can host more than 1 wordpress site, run plex, and would have a RAID setup similar to Drobo, where I can add more drives or replace smaller/failed drives easily enough (doesn't have to be automatic rebuild like the drobo, as long as its possible and not to tricky to do)

what Linux Server OS and other options should I be looking at?

thanks everyone in advance!!

Possible Malware Infection On Mint 13 -- Need Help

When I went to check my email this morning, there was a new (gigantic) ad bar at the top of my gmail page. I tried to see if there was any mention of it on google, and noticed that an even more gigantic ad bar appeared at the top of each search result. The ad bar has "ad by: Media Player" in one corner, but no option to close it. I've restarted my computer, and checked to make sure my system updates were current. I've scanned my home directory with ClamTK, and nothing comes up. I've tried to download a free trial of Bitdefender (I thought this was free, but it isn't showing up in the package repository any more, so maybe not?) but whenever I try to access the Bitdefender home page or the home page of any other antivirus scanner, I get a giant malware-y looking ad page that says "YOUR COMPUTER MAY HAVE A VIRUS" with a phone number to call for help. I have not called the number. I'm very concerned now. I want to do a full system scan, but ClamTK doesn't appear to have that capability, and I don't know how to download another antivirus program safely with the ad blocking my access to the antivirus websites. Can someone help me please?

I'm running Mint 13 Maya/Cinnamon. I'm using Firefox as my browser. I did check to see if there were other reports of this problem with Firefox or Google, but couldn't find anything current.

HOW-TO: FAT32/NTFS/ext3 For Windows/Linux Cross-compatible

I own a NAS D-Link DNS-320 running fun_plug 0.7 & transmissionBT.

I just bought a Transcend 2.5 inch 2TB USB HDD which is preformatted to NTFS.

Just wondering whether my NAS(linux) can write to my USB HDD for a reliable storage for transmissionBT.

Otherwise, if writing to NTFS is unstable in linux, how should I format my USB HDD. I know I could format as FAT32... but FAT32 has a 4GB file size limit.
Is it possible to format USB HDD as ext3 (linux file system)... and still compatible/read/write by Windows XP/7/8?

Home Server Setup Recommendations

Hi Guys & Girls

I'm planning to reuse my old hw for a home server based on debian.
I want to provide my lan with 4 to 5 services like router/dhcp, tftp, pxe/fw, nfs-server, media-server, clonzilla-server, squid-dansguardian and eventually later on a small mta/webmail, horde solution.

How would you set this up?

An all-in-one machine running natively on the hw or separate vms @ kvm?
I would also like to have a stable and good manageable backup architecture, like using a central clonezilla server instance to pick up everything from the other services.

Greetings and thanks a lot
