Snmpd Error!

I'm trying to get MRTG set up on Ubuntu 14.04 and cannot get snmpd to install correctly. Every time I try to install I get this error

/usr/sbin/snmpd: error while loading shared libraries: libnetsnmpagent.so.30: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
invoke-rc.d: initscript snmpd, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing package snmpd (--configure):

Processing triggers for ureadahead (0.100.0-16) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
snmpd
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I've tried numerous possible fixes for this and have not found anything that works. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've downloaded libquadmath and when I want to install it ,the other error said I don't have libgc package!!! but I have libgc!! is it because of existing two different repository that it can't share their information?
my operating system is Centos6;
what shall I do?

Code:

Code:
pgrep snmpd

Code:
kill -3 4233 > /tmp/snmp_pid.txt

OR

Code:
kill -SIGQUIT 4233 > /tmp/snmp_pid.txt

Yes the process quit's which is fine but there is no output from the process in /tmp/snmp_pid.txt.

Can someone please explain?

Thanks

Ubuntu 'dpkg--configure-a' E: Dpkg Was Interrupted Error

Hi,
I am very new to linux, and frankly I do not know a whole lot about computers in general, as I'm entirely self taught, and that was all on windows. I really like the idea and concept of linux and ubuntu, and am in the process of learning. I have recently installed Ubuntu 8.04 LTS on an ex Vista computer at work (upon the urging by the boss). I can give more information on the system if needed. However, I think the problem may not be with the system. This is what I got. I installed the o/s and started downloading the updates from the list. As I tried to install Samba and Wine, all of a sudden things started to become complicated. As I'm doing this at work, and everyone is excited to 'play' with this new o/s, someone tried to download limewire as well, when I was away. I didn't see the error messages at that point, but they apparently had some message about java, and tried to shut everything down. Now when I came back, I get this message:

E: dpkg was interrupted you must manually run 'dpkg -- configure - a' to correct.
Problem E: _cache->open()failed

So, not knowing much about linux and even less about using the terminal, I did open the terminal, and typed in: dpkg--configure-a and hit enter. Then it tells me that that command is not found.

I have followed some other posts that deal with this problem, however, all the remedies that worked for them did not work for me. I could use some help, please. My other option is to just reinstall the o/s all over and start new. Thank you.

VPN Mullvad Client Won't Install Proper -dependency Problems(?)-

Hello all

I'm having trouble with installing the Mullvad VPN client on my computer. The configuration files work fine and there is a connection but the client just won't work (there is a icon in the applications but when clicking on it, password is asked and then nothing happens). Using Debian Wheezy 7.
I'm in contact with Mullvad but we haven't made any progress yet, and it's weekend now.

I tried a couple of thing but this is where i'm now:

- Fresh installed system.

→ Going to Downloads map in terminal
→ login as root
→ trying to install Mullvad by dpkg -i mullvad_48-1_all.deb
→ seeing error installing Mullvad
→ apt-get install -f
→ installing “mullvad depends on packages”
apt-get install pytho
apt-get install python-wxgtk2.8
apt-get install python-appindicator
→ trying to install Mullvad by dpkg -i mullvad_48-1_all.deb
→ seeing problem(?)
“ dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of mullvad:
mullvad depends on python:any (>= 2.7.1-0ubuntu2).

dpkg: error processing mullvad (--install):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured “ (what is this?)
→ trying to install python_2.7.3-4+deb7u1_all.deb by dpkg -i python_2.7.3-4+deb7u1_all.deb
→ then: apt-get install -f
→ trying to install Mullvad: dpkg -i mullvad_48-1_all.deb
→ still not working

I found this link about "Package has a Depends on python:any (>= 2.7.1-0ubuntu2)" https://qa.debian.org/debcheck.php?dist ... thon-gdata
It says : Package has a Depends on python:any (>= 2.7.1-0ubuntu2) which cannot be satisfied on amd64.
What does this mean for me?

I checked command # python -V The output is:
Code:

How To Use Static Libraries? Please Help Lol

https://code.google.com/p/wavelet1d/...ar.gz&can=2&q=

The above link is where I downloaded *.cpp(s) and the libraries.

If you "untar" the package, in "examples" directory, there are some demonstration files. What I wanted to do was to make an executable file out of "wavedemo1.cpp".

I modified the code in "wavedemo1.cpp"; Code:
#include "wavelet2d.h"

to Code:
#include "wavelet2s.h"

, then placed the header file "wavelet2s.h" (from /wavelib/src/linuxstatic) and the modified "wavedemo1.cpp" into my working directory.

Inside the working directory, I ran the following command

Code:
gcc -L/home/mario/wavelet/wavelib/linuxstatic -lwavelet2s wavedemo1.cpp -o wavedemo1

Then I get the following error messages.

/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /home/mario/wavelet/wavelib/linuxstatic/libwavelet2s.a when searching for -lwavelet2s
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lwavelet2s
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

I'm not sure what went wrong with my approach. This is my first time trying to use libraries on linux and it's giving me really tough times.

I would appreciate your help, please let me know if you need more details to explain things.

Thanks.

Bzip2: (stdin) Is Not A Bzip2 File. Error

I've been trying to uncompress the file XpressConnect-x86.tar.bz2 using the tar command but I keep getting the following error.

Code:
richard@richard-K52Jr:~/Software$ tar -xvjf XpressConnect-x86.tar.bz2
bzip2: (stdin) is not a bzip2 file.
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

I think it may be a problem with the file itself b/c it was provied by our wonderfully incompetent IT dep. I've also tried tar -xvf but that did not work either. I'll attach the file to this post if I can any help would be appreciated.

Why Bluegriffon Does Not Install In Debian 8?

I tried to install bluegriffon. Didn't work with apt-get install (error: unable to locate package bluegriffon).
I installed compiler (with apt-get install build-essential)
then I unpacked the "bluegriffon-1.7.2.Ubuntu13.04.x86_64.tar.bz2" that I downloaded from their website
then I changed to bluegriffon folder with the unpacked files and I tried to compile the package but the "./configure command" did not work (error : -su: ./configu No such file or directory)
What should I do now?

Trouble Installing Mysql

Hi everyone,
i tried to install mysql on my slackware 14.1.
typed mysql_install_db --user=mysql and went to the automatic configuration of secure access and receive this "Enter current password for root (enter for none):
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)".
How can remove this installation, to try to reinstall the db?

And another error when try to reinstall :

Installation of system tables failed! Examine the logs in
/var/lib/mysql for more information.

The problem could be conflicting information in an external
my.cnf files. You can ignore these by doing:

shell> /scripts/mysql_install_db --defaults-file=~/.my.cnf

You can also try to start the mysqld daemon with:

shell> /usr/libexec/mysqld --skip-grant --general-log &

and use the command line tool /usr/bin/mysql
to connect to the mysql database and look at the grant tables:

shell> /usr/bin/mysql -u root mysql
mysql> show tables

Try 'mysqld --help' if you have problems with paths. Using
--general-log gives you a log in /var/lib/mysql that may be helpful.
