Hello,
I have been trying to get the Wifi working for days now but to no avail. I am running Kali through a USB on my Macbook Pro Retina. I believe it has a Broadcom 14e4:43a0. Also there is no ethernet port on my Mac and so I am trying to do everything either offline or through USB transfer of files. Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks in advance
Hi ,
I'm new to Linux , I installed Kali linux on my pc and the wifi card isn't working ..
It is a usb wifi card , It has a cd for its driver. There is a folder in the cd called " Linux Driver " and here's what is inside it
First folder :

I'd like to know the steps to install it , Thanks in advance ..
I have a WiFi dongle that said to support GNU/Linux, however no drivers were found on the CD, after hours of research i found this and installed the driver, I'm pretty sure my device is listed as supported, but the device is still not recognized, it is listed on lsusb command, but not recognized by any WiFi program like WiFi Radar and wireless-tools, also when i use the iwconfig command, this is what i see, i really need this wireless connection working, can you help, please?
As in title
Linux mint Rebecca cinnamon 64bit. 2 different WiFi adapters both work on old pc setup . WiFi connects no problem when running from USB. Install to SSD and network shows up but just keeps trying to connect. Tried other versions of mint and lubuntu (same distro as old pc). Will try install to my other HDD later on and try 32bit versions but its a new setup so cant see that helping
Any suggestions please?
Thanks
I know that there is an option to start a wifi hotspot on Ubuntu when you are connected to the wired network. But when I want to use my wifi connection as a hotspot, Ubuntu asks me to disconnect from my wifi and then create a hotspot, which is of no use.
If you have ever heard about the software called Connectify Hotspot, I want to use that functionality in ubuntu 14.10.
Is there any way to do that? i am excited to know about that

Hello there,
i've just installed the ubuntu 1.4 version in my laptop alongside a version of windows 7. The problem is that while working with ubuntu i cannot operate the wifi connection to my modem, looks like the driver is not working, any ideas?
thank you in advance
I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ62-413NR. I have tried using many different distro's and I have the same problem. The networks will be seen and it will start to connect then it immediately gets disconnected. Tried everything on the Ubuntu forum and still nothing. The wifi works flawlessly with Windows though. The wireless card is an Atheros AR9285. I currently have Deepin Linux dual booted on my laptop with no Pro. Drivers for the card available in the settings. If anyone would like to assist me in getting this issue resolved I would greatly appreciate it. I am loving Linux OS!
i recently installed ubuntu after being done with windows 7 on my dell lattitude d820 and when i donwnloaded that it wouldnt connect to wifi so i got julinux and that too wont work with wifi , i need help , its my first time using linux , please help me
Hi
I am not brand new to Linux but have been using a very popular Linux distro which has pretty much made everything easy for me in day to day use
I do distro hop quite a bit on my spare laptop and have tried many distros i came across Antix 13.2 which i really love and is a superb distro in terms of speed and increasing my learning curve in linux systems and was easyish to set up via wicd (just involved writing in wlan0) and that was it
One thing i can never get the hang of though and would love a complete idiots guide to is the wifi set up in some distros i have discarded because i just do not understand how to set it up
This evening i tried Sparky Linux on a usb and would love to have tried it but the wifi problem surfaced again
a box comes up re edit connections and from there i have no idea at all what to do what i normally do is disregard that distro and move on! But i would like to be able to input the info to get it working..any ideas please
Many Thanks
Hello everybody,
I am seeking help regarding sharing internet connection. I would be greatful.
I have;
A Laptop : Samsung RV509, i3, 300GB HDD, 3GB Ram, Dual boot Windows7 & LM 17 cinnamon 32bit. WiFi & Bluetooth available.
A Desktop PC : Celeron CPU 2.4GHZ, 40 GB HDD, 1GB RAM, LiveUSB-LM 17 cinnamon 32bit, No WiFi hardware available, No Bluetooth hardware available.
A mobile phone : Nokia Asha 500, WiFi & Bluetooth available.
An old USB data cable: with which the mobile phone can be connected to the computers. I have successfully connected and transfered data back & forth, and also shared/connected Mobile-Broadband-internet to both Laptop and Desktop.
What I have been doing now is; I have an internet connection to my Laptop with an external modem and Ethernet. Its working fine. I have an unlimited plan and so I want to share this internet connection on the mobile phone too; instead of incuring extra cost by connecting to the internet directly through the phone. I am successful at that. I can share this internet connection on my phone through WiFi.
Now, what I want to do is; without buying any extra hardware, to share this same internet connection on my Desktop PC, too.
What I tried is; I searched the web, but didn't find any solution. Now I am here. Please kindly help me.
Thank you & Regards
Anil
