Hi
Quite new here, I want to enable NPIV on a physical redhat server. Is this possible first off? If so how can I do this.? My HBAs are compatible and can do NPIV, my switch too.
Thanks in Advance
I am newly installed Redhat 7 , and try to yum package , but got the following error ,
I do not have paid for Redhat subscription , would advise if I want to yum package , I have to pay for Redhat ? if not , what can I do ? thanks
#yum install NetworkManager
the system is not registered to Redhat Subscription Management. you can use subscription-manager to register.
There are no enabled repos.
Run "yum repolist all" to see the repos you have
You can enable repos with yum-config-manager --enable <repo>
Hi, After migrating to Canada I researched and concluded to learn Linux (starting with Redhat flavor). But still confused how to start. Initially I have downloaded REDHAT and its running in my laptop through a vm. Also have a book from Damian Tommasino and Asghar Ghori. But when I try to apply commands some does not work. It seems I should have access to a server to apply for that commands e.g. making new users, assigning permissions to users etc. Is there anybody who can help in just guiding me in few bullet points how to proceed towards learning REDHAT from beginning to earn certification of RHCSA & RHCE. will be obliged for your help.
I want to connect a windows workstation to a rh linux network by a 35 meter network cable but it reads 10 Mbps speed and I can't virualize a physical redhat machine in the network
Is the problem with the windows, the cable length or I need to do some configuration in redhat.
I am totally unaware about linux;but I am suggested by my teachers to learn REDhat. i am not getting how to start;from where to get REDhat operating system;which book or online site to refer to;so that i can start learning REDHAT.
please as my question;give me a detailed answer.I really am naive at Linux.

Hi
I am getting the below error while trying to install openshift by script openshift.sh

Error: rhel-6-server-ose-2.1-infra-rpms is not a valid repo ID
Hi,
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't sure which was most appropriate...
I've built a Redhat 7 VM from an ISO and I've carried out various configuration on it and for some reason when I now run ip commands (for examnple 'ip addr show') I no longer get any output on screen.
Example...
[root@rhel-7-xx2 ~]# ip addr show
[root@rhel-7-xx2 ~]#
Version I'm using is:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.0 (Maipo)
I built another server and had the same problem and managed to fix it by yum updating all packages so it looks like a package needs to be updated but not sure which one.
If I pipe the output to a text file I can see the output okay in the file.
I have a ticket open with Redhat but it's taking a while to troubleshoot with them so thought I'd see if anyone else had seen this in the meantime...
Thanks
James
I am NEW to Linux. the most experience I have is I like to use Linux boot disks like knoppix and puppy. But I have been commissioned to build an email server for our company. I say build, but there already is a server here woth Redhat rel 9 (shrike) ker 2.4.26 already installed. The problem is, the last IT guy left and nobody knows the login info. I can't log into it. Should I re-install and just delete the partition, or is there a workaround?
Thank you to anyone who can help me....
