Sendmail Is Not Working

Hi all,

I am trying to configure sendmail on my OEL 6.5 running on VM.

I did below to set it :

1. # yum install m4 telnet mailx
2. # yum install sendmail sendmail-cf
3. # ps -ef | grep -v grep | grep -i sendmail
root 3805 1 0 05:58 ? 00:00:00 sendmail: accepting connections
smmsp 3815 1 0 05:58 ? 00:00:00 sendmail: Queue runner@01:00:00 for /var/spool/clientmqueue

4. # netstat -an | grep :25 | grep tcp
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:25 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN

5. vi /etc/mail/sendmail.mc

From:
DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA')dnl

To
dnl DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA')dnl

6. # m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

7. # service sendmail restart

8. # vi /etc/mail/local-host-names
oracle.com

Now if I am sending mail from 1 user (root) to other user (oracle)

Where Can I Find Keyboard Shortcuts On Macbook Air For Use In Linux (Fedora)

Hi, all! So I am taking a Linux O/S class for my degree requirements. The book we are using is "Linux Bible" - 8th ed. by Christopher Negus. Per our instructor, I am accessing Fedora via Oracle VM VirtualBox. Negus refers to a Windows keyboard when he instructs us to enter, for example, Ctrl+Alt+F2 to open a virtual console. Where can I find a list of MAC keyboard equivalent key combos or will I have to assign them myself?

My instructor was no help with this question and told me I would have to scour the Internet which i have to no avail.

I have an assignment due and I can't follow along until I figure this out. Any help would be appreciated.

Error:cannot Retrieve Repository Metadata (repomd.xml) For Repository: Fedora

Hi.
I am completely new in Linux and I'm trying to learn as much as I can while doing my job.

I am following directions from a wi-fi card vendor. In it, they require to download Fedora 13 to the laptop, which I have already done so. uname -a displays:
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.33.3-85.fc13.i868.PAE #1.

The directions ask to update the kernel with "yum install kernel-PAE". While connected to the internet, when I type that, the following error comes up:
Loaded plugin : presto, refresh-packagekit
Error: cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora
Please verify its path and try again

What does it mean and what file do I need to update with the right path? Please, let me know what other information you need.
Thank you very much

I Am Trying To Install Mukulu Linux On A Desktop That Has XP On It .

I have followed all the instructions I have got from the net and made boot-able DVD's and USB sticks several different ways as people advise. I have done the same with Mint 17. I have created a partition (26G) and follow the install instructions 1: English 2:Has at least 7.4G available drive space. 4: Is connected to the internet. 5: Here it shows a page where I think it should display the drive options (but does not) If I push the "install now" button it comes up with an error "No root file system is defined --Please correct this from the partitioning menu" I close the installer and look at the drives in GParted and they are all there and the one I created for Linux is PARTITION - /dev/sda4 FILE SYSTEM - ext4
MOUNT POINT - /media/makulu/0C43086E0C43086E LABEL - Lin
SIZE - 26.02 GB USED - 590.07 Mb UNUSED - 24.44 GB FLAG - (blank)
No indication on how to fix the "No root file system" problem. I have tried so many bits of advise that I am beginning to think that I may be better of sticking to windows (perish the thought)
Can anyone help?
