How To Disable Packages Downloading When Running Yum

Hi Gurus,
When I run "yum install" for packages, seems it will download packages to /var/cache/yum. As there's limited free space on /, this will make / full very soon. So is there anyway that I can disable packages downloading to /var/cache/yum?

Thanks.

Progress Bar During Installation

hello all,
during installing a software, it shows the packages which are being installed. Is it possible to not show the packages and instead display the progress bar. And if somebody wants to see the packages which are getting installed, then by pressing a combination of keys for eg Ctrl+A or Alt+F4 etc the installing packages could be seen.

Need Help Installing NS 2.26 With RSVP-TE Patch

Hello,

i need to install NS2 version 2.26 with RSVP-TE patch to do some MPLS simulations.

I'm trying on fedora 8 and when compiling i am getting this error

for common problems and bug fixes.

All X11 packages are installed (libX11-devel libXext-devel libXau-devel libXmu-devel)

Installed CentOS 3.9 (it seems NS2 2.26 installs well on this distro) but when trying to get packages with yum seems the repo is not working anymore.

If any one could help to solve the problem of installation i would greatly appreciate

Yum Local Install - Package And All Dependencies In Local Directory

I am trying to install tilp, a program for the link between a computer and a Texas Instruments calculator. I have downloaded all the packages to a local directory. I tried telling yum to install all the packages at the same time, though, the dependencies still fail to resolve (though they are all in the directory).

I don't know if it would be safe to force install without the dependencies (even though I would install them later).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Having Issues Downloading And Installing Plex.

Don't suppose someone can tell me exactly what to write in order to download and install PMS on Arch? I'm about to throw my computer out of the window.

First I tried:

Code:
sudo pacman -S plex-media-server-plexpass

And it cannot find anyting. I've only managed to find Plex Home Theatre using this method.

Next I tried:

Code:
sudo pacman -U https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server/0.9.11.17.986-269b82b/plexmediaserver-0.9.11.17.986-269b82b.x86_64.rpm

Which resulted in an error stating:

Code:
error: failed retrieving file 'plexmediaserver-0.9.11.17.986-269b82b.x86_64.rpm.sig' from downloads.plex.tv : the requested URL returned error: 404
warning: failed to download https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server/0.9.11.17.986-269b82b/plexmediaserver-0.9.11.17.986-269b82b.x86_64.rpm.sig
loading packages...
error: '/var/cache/pacman/pkg/plexmediaserver-0.9.11.17.986-269b82b.x86_64.rpm' : package missing required signature.

I mean, what am I doing wrong? Can someone please tell me exactly what to type in to download and install PMS?

Cheers
