WiFi Configuration Lanix Neuron LT ?

I installed Ubuntu 15.04 but with earlier versions this happened too. The problem is, with HTTP or normal downloads like watching youtube the speed is like 20kB/s and with bittorrent I can achieve the full 600kB/s of my network, while in Windows 7 I can download the same files or watch the same videos and have them use the full speed of my network.

Any ideas? what do I have to change so HTTP works fast too? because I think the driver is not the problem since transmission works fine
Thanks

EDIT: And with ethernet cable everything works at full speed

Connecting Windows Machine To A Redhat Linux Network

I want to connect a windows workstation to a rh linux network by a 35 meter network cable but it reads 10 Mbps speed and I can't virualize a physical redhat machine in the network
Is the problem with the windows, the cable length or I need to do some configuration in redhat.

Half Bandwidth Over Wireless

I'm experiencing something kind of weird.

When I test my network speed (Speakeasy and speedtest) I get about 25/25mbps. Internally however although unmeasured it seems to be full 100mbps. Other computers and devices on wireless are getting about 50/50 mbps on the same tests. The problem is definitely specific to this laptop and specifically outside the local network.

Any thoughts?

CPU Fan Spped Is Too High And Too Loud

Hi. Please help.

I got a new ETS-T40 Black Twister CPU cooler a few days ago. The installation was easy. I plugged the cpu cooler cable to 4pin cpu fan. The fan was running at 750-800 RPM which is perfect for me because it's not noisy. The problem was the blue LED light on the fan didn't come on. The only way to get the led light to work was to plug the cable to 3pin sys fan, but the fan was running in full speed 1800 rpm and it's really loud. How can I fix this problem?

New Problem -- Amazon Prime Videos

Hello,
As of 2 days ago, I am having a new problem watching Amazon Prime videos with Flash Player. I'm running Linux Mint 13 on a Dell desktop, with Firefox 37.0.1 and Adobe Flash Player 11. I have a 7mbps internet connection.

The problem is that two days ago, the video quality on my Amazon Prime got stuck at 348 kbps. Prior to that, I was able to watch Prime videos in HD. Now, I can't.

Here are the things I have tried so far:
1. I restarted my computer and modem multiple times.
2. I ran multiple speed tests at speedtest.net to verify that my internet connection is working properly.
3. I went to YouTube and sampled a couple of 1080p videos to make sure I could view video properly on sites other than Amazon. I had no problem streaming the YouTube videos in HD.
4. I tried watching the same Amazon Prime video in Chrome with Pepperflash. This didn't work at all -- after the video finished loading, I got a black screen.
5. I cleared my Firefox and Adobe Flash caches. (For the Adobe Flash cashes, I first tried the Flash Player control panel. When that didn't work, I used the macromedia page he http://www.macromedia.com/support/do...manager06.html
6. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash multiple times from the software repository.
7. I manually deleted the .adobe, .mozilla, and .macromedia files so they would be rebuilt.
8. I verified that HAL is installed.

Does anyone have other suggestions? I did call Amazon last night, and eventually got a tech support person who is a Linux user himself. He checked the log and verified that I was able to stream videos at HD speeds as recently as 2 days ago. He said that usually the steps I took would fix the problem, so it might be an Amazon issue, but also said that if he tried to report it it would probably get bounced because I am a Linux user and Amazon does not support Linux. I asked him please to try anyway, but thought I would check here in the meantime.

Thanks.

Is It Time For A Modem Funeral?

I have a USB fax modem, and it logs the following errors when turned on.

I know it is impossible to know for sure, but think it is hardware related? Any chance to salvage?

Also, what are the steps to start troubleshooting?

Thanks

Erratic Wifi

Have had ongoing problems with wifi since I built my PC. It was like it is now when I first built it, I tried bits I found online to try and fix it and evntually it just started working out of the blue, when I hadn't changed anything. A few weeks ago it just reverted to how it was before

Very rarely it works normally, except it will only see my network (always about 60-70% strength) and not the other 3 in range
Sometimes it will say it is connected but not be able to download anything, and wont even load up the router homepage
Sometimes it connect and run for a few minutes before dropping and not being able to reconnect
Most often it will see my network and all others in range but wont connect
Sometimes it wont see my network at all, but will see others in range
Sometime network manager wont even show wireless up as an option just "nwtwork cable unplugged"

My 2 HDDs are on Mint 17.1, one is 64bit one 32bit. Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P. I have 3 wifi adapters, one belkin, one realtek, and one "Think Penguin" one I bought especially from USA thinking it would be an easy fix. All have same problem, but all work on my other older PC properly with about 50-60% signal strength (same OS 32 bit)

I have no idea where to start

Lanix NeuronLT Netbook: GRUB Problem

Hey guys, so I just installed Ubuntu 12.04LTS on this netbook, almost everything works perfect except that I have to suspend and resume it when booting, it doesn't show splash screen or anything at boot.

I think this is a GRUB problem because before Ubuntu I had Android x86 installed alongside Windows 7 and the GRUB Android had installed worked just fine. The "suspend and resume" problem happens on both Ubuntu and Android.
Can someone please help me?

Upgrade From Squeeze To Wheezy Network Issue

I recently decided to upgrade from Debian Squeeze to Wheezy. Update seemed to go fine with the exception of the following warning concerning my Broadcom bmc5704 gigabit ethernet cards

Quote:
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/tigon/tg3_tso5.bin for module tg3
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/tigon/tg3_tso.bin for module tg3
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/tigon/tg3.bin for module tg3
No problem I will simply install the missing .bin files after the upgrade. Get the .bin files from the Debian repository and install them using the command "dpkg -i file_name.deb" then ran "apt-get install -f" for good measure. Still nothing, I have downloaded the following files and running that same command for each hoping that this would solve my compatibility issue with no such luck.

Quote:
firmware-bnx2_0.36+wheezy.1_all.deb
firmware-bnx2x_0.36+wheezy.1_all.deb
firmware-linux-nonfree_0.36+wheezy.1_all.deb
firmware-linux-nonfree_0.36+wheezy.1~bpo60+1_all.deb
When I attempt to go into System Preferences > Network I get the message "The system network services are not compatible with this version."

I showed the hardware using the lshw command and here is the entry concerning the ethernet interface

Server is an older HP ProLiant and I am attempting to put Wheezy on it from a direct upgrade from squeeze.

At this point I am stumped. Not sure exactly what to do but it seems like a fairly simple fix. If anyone has any suggestions I would sure appreciate the help. Let me know if you need anything.
