I am a R user. I want to know whether remote computers are running R or not.
PROBLEM: How to know whether R program is running, and redirect the host which is running R to a file? I want to check the COMMAND column contains R. What should I do?
Here is the picture of "top" when running R programs(parallel).
I installed an vpn program in kubuntu by its deb package.
in installation, program asked me for server address and user and pass;
now it is running in background and I want to stop it. I use "ps aux" to find out the proccess id but it is not there? deb fine name and address con not be found in command column. is there any way to stop it?
OK, I'm Lonnie and I am totally committed to this program, I have rid myself of all Microsoft. I have worked with computers since the green bar dos,but I can't seem to even get my password to work. It works on my BlackBerry but not on my acer 5733z 64 bit fully loaded with 17.1 and 3 partitions,but it seems Ike it is still running off my memory, I did a backup when all updates only priority 1&2, but I think it created another os on the side,idk maybe I jumped too deep but that's how I learned windows,could someone please,head me in right path.
I have an expect script to SSH to a remote host and obtain some user inputs and information about the server/network configuration. The responses are saved in a text file that I then need to copy to my local host so that I can read the lines into variables for use in the parent shell script.
Is there a way to do this without needing to enter the username and password for the local host to use function scp? I have tried the following in my expect script to no avail:
Code:
spawn scp $usr@$host:$flnm .
expect {
-re "(.*)assword:" {
send -s "$pswd\r"
}
}
I have also tried to directly scp the file and enter the username and password to try to debug the issue, and that doesn't work either:
Code:
spawn scp file.txt user@host:file.txt
expect {
-re "(.*)assword:" {
send -s "password\r"
}
"you sure you want to continue connecting" {
send -s "yes\r"
exp_continue
}
}
In both scenarios I have used exp_internal 1, and there are no errors. But I do not end up with the file on my local host.
Following the copy, I would like to delete the file from the remote host. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?
This is my script and the syntax to run this script is give ip and next will be the file or script you want to perform on remote server
#!/bin/bash
# The private key used to identify this machine
IDENTITY_KEY=/home/adnew.pem
syntax()
{
echo "Syntax: Ec2.sh server_ip scriptFile]"
echo "For example: ./Ec2.sh server_ip scriptFile"
exit 1
}
if [ $# -ne 2 ]
then
echo not enough arguments
syntax
fi
echo "Running script $2 on $1"
ssh -ttq -i $IDENTITY_KEY ec2-user@$1 sudo -i 'bash -s' < $2
exit
exit
echo "Done"
on script file i have give for testing
touch /root/test
ls /root/test
exit
exit
it makes the file but do not show the ls output by giving error
tcgetattr: Inappropriate ioctl for device
exit
what I have to do ??

awk: cmd. line:1: {
awk: cmd. line:1: ^ unexpected newline or end of string
local server
# free -g | grep Mem | awk -F " " '{ print $2 }'

Hi,
I have a target board running embedded Linux, and a host PC that runs Ubuntu. I want to be able to transfer files from the host PC to the target board through serial interface, (something like I have a terminal program on the host side that talks to the target, and I issue some command from the terminal to transfer a file to the target, the target receive the file and store it in some RAM location for later), How can I do it?
I know how to do this using ymodem on the host terminal and loady on target's u-boot command prompt, but how can I do it when target is running Linux?
Thank you all,
Wei
I have a vps with Ubuntu 12.04 that I'm in the process of configuring. I have configued samba and been able to mount a share from my local computer to my samba share on my remote vps.
The issue is that when I go into the Samba server module and I click start, stop or restart it has no effect what so ever. I can ssh into the terminal and run $ sudo service smbd start and that will work (as well as stop/restart). However it will not work within Webmin.
I then went to the module configuration and changed the start command to: service smbd start and the same for the stop command (with "stop" though).
I then when to System > Running processes and saw that smbd is running however the list is showing "is running now" as NO. I click the start/stop button within this section and it doesn't work again.
Can anyone please help me figure this out?

I have been flailing trying to get a web server running on Fedora 21.
Finally did so.
I have my iptables working (me thinks) as they should. I can connect from my Linux box (local) or from my Mac on the same network/subnet.
Problem is in my "travels" I have somehow trashed my firewall-cmd.
I was adding parameters to it w/o issue. E.G
firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-port=80/tcp --permanent
Then restarting firewall-cmd
firewall-cmd --realod
This was all working. I "fixed" my problem with connecting to my web server from other LAN workstations (iptables issues) and was going back to see if all was well. Now when I try to restart I get a:
FirewallD is not running
That from my "reload" command above.
Have I fixed my web server issue or is my world wide open att?
Assistance, as always, greatly appreciated.

Hy All,
I have two nodes running RHEL 6.4 which are in cluster. I have clustered httpd service. Now I have certain application suppose X which reside in SAN partition. Now my job is to only automate this script to run by analyzing httpd status. I have successfully created the script apptrigger.sh whose content is given below,
-bash-4.1$ cat apptrigger.sh
a=0
b=0
c=0
d=0
a="service httpd status"
b=`eval $a`
##### CHECKING WHETHER HTTPD SERVICE IS RUNNING OR NOT #####
if [ "$b" != "httpd is stopped" ]; then
c="bash /switchapp/switch/ezlinkenterprise/bin/ezlink-cluster.sh status"
d=`eval $c`
##### CHECKING WHETHER EZ IS RUNNING OR NOT #####
if [ "$d" != "EzTaskMgr is Running" ]; then
ezstart

I have created this script in say test user. Now when I put this script to automate or run every minute through test user and defined its value in crontab -e of test user whose content is as shown below
$crontab -l
* * * * * /bin/bash /home/test/apptrigger.sh
but this script is running as root user so I cannot get the o/p
I think some environment variable need to be set. Anyone can guide me with this step? Thanks for your views and suggestion.
