Hi everyone, I am a new member and also new to linux, I encountered a problem, but last week I tried but did not solve
I downloaded iso file linux 1.1.0 on page potassium https://www.kali.org, I installed on my Dell inspiron n4010, it works very well and does not have any errors, but after I update and upgrade all packages, I rebooted the system switches to the command line, I lost a lot of time to return to the graphics, but when booting up the network manager icon not seen, I have set the package network-manager-gnome_0.9.4.1-0ubuntu2_i386.deb network manager icon show but when click on the network manager icon only contained text "network manager is not running."
I also installed Wicd but could not run "could not connect to wicd's D-Bus interface. Check the wicd log for error messages."
wireless driver apparently was set before
root@kali:~# airmon-ng
PHY Interface Driver Chipset
phy0 wlan0 wl Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n (rev 01)
please help me!
please guide installed offline, my kali linux no internet connection. can download package from another machine to install.
Hi,
In December I upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04 and then to Ubuntu 14.04.
I have always used Picasa as my photo manager, and all my photos each with individual headings for the last 7 years are on Picasa 3.0. Today I tried to import my last holiday photos into Picasa, and something called Shotwell photo manager opened and started importing 7 years of my photos. I stopped the process quite quickly, as I had never heard of Shotwell, and I just wanted to add my new photos to my existing photo library in Picasa.
I feel that I should be able to choose which photo manager I want to use, I realise that Picasa is a Google programme and quite old, and Shotwell is Linux and new, but I am familiar with Picasa and do not want to change to any other programme.
Please can somebody tell me in simple terms how to keep Picasa as my default photo manager and get rid of Shotwell.
Any help will be much appreciated, thank you.

Hey
First of all I don't know what I'm doing with Linux. At all. Please help. And please speak very clearly and slowly.
I got this computer second hand and I don't know what version of Linux that is on it. I tried to find out, I was just told Meego. Meego is not an option on Skypes homepage for downloading Skype.
I don't really understand the different versions. I especially don't understand how to install programs and downoad updates. I want to download Skype and a more recent version of Firefox or another browser, but I dont know how.
Information online talks about, and tells me to open my Package Manager. I don't know what this is, and I can't find one on my computer. The closest thing I have is called 'Live Update' but I open that and there is nothing in it.
Please can someone take me through how all this is supposed to work please?!
Thanks
